Well Examination Services
Well Examination is the Independent Assessment (or Verification), on behalf of a Well Operator, that wells are being designed, constructed and maintained in accordance with the appropriate legislation and industry standards.
Well Examination is a legal requirement of the Offshore Installations and Well (Design and Construction, etc) Regulations which were introduced by the UK Government in 1996. Since that time NRG has been instrumental in the development and execution of Well Examination schemes for many Operators. Well Examination is also performed for the International Operations of some Clients who wish to promote Independent Verification as part of an integrated QA/QC approach to Operational Safety.
NRG, as Well Examiners, are fully independent of the Operator’s line management and utilise either a standard Well Examination Scheme developed on behalf of the Client or one developed specifically by the Client. In either case the Schemes are standardised and do not require major input of resources or expenditure from the Client in terms of up-front development or day-to-day running.
The Schemes cover all types of wells and operations including drilling, completion and production operations, through to abandonment. They also help to ensure that there are no overlaps with the Independent Verification process carried out in respect of Offshore Installation Safety Critical Equipment.
